Our client is seeking an experienced Workers Compensation Manager to lead the delivery of workers compensation and claims management strategies across their NSW operations. With a workforce of 1,500 people and multiple sites in Sydney and regional NSW, this is a significant leadership opportunity to drive effective claims management, support safe return to work outcomes, and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
About the Role
The Workers Compensation Manager will:
- Manage and oversee all workers compensation claims across NSW, ensuring fair, timely and accurate outcomes.
- Partner with the external provider to implement best practice injury management strategies and build capability in return to work processes.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with insurers, brokers, rehabilitation providers and legal advisors to optimise outcomes and reduce costs.
- Monitor trends in workers compensation and workplace injuries, identify risks, and develop proactive strategies to reduce claim frequency and costs.
- Provide strategic advice and reporting to senior leadership on claim performance, injury trends and financial impacts.
- Lead training and coaching for managers and supervisors to strengthen knowledge of injury management and workers compensation responsibilities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to a safe, supportive and sustainable workplace culture.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications and significant experience in workers compensation and injury management.
- Proven expertise in managing complex claims and working across multiple sites.
- Strong knowledge of workers compensation legislation in NSW, and practical experience applying it in large organisations.
- Demonstrated success in developing strategies that reduce claim costs and improve return to work outcomes.
- Excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
