We are working with a long-established, purpose-driven community services organisation delivering critical support across disability, youth, housing, education and social services environments. Every day, they work alongside vulnerable members of the community to create safer, more inclusive futures.

Following a recent organisational restructure and service expansion, we are seeking a capable and values-driven Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager to take ownership of our safety function and drive meaningful improvement across a complex, multi-site operating environment.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Capability & Wellbeing within the People, Quality & Safety portfolio, this role will lead the uplift of safety systems, injury management performance and regional capability across diverse service settings.

The risk landscape is dynamic and includes psychosocial risk, occupational violence and aggression (OVA), and the realities of supporting participants experiencing vulnerability, trauma and substance impact.

Key Priorities
  • Strengthen capability of Regional Safety and RTW Coordinators
  • Uplift and embed a contemporary Safety Management System
  • Review and enhance the Health & Safety Risk Register
  • Implement improved procedures aligned to legislative and contractual obligations
  • Establish robust audit and assurance cycles
  • Improve Return to Work and Injury Management performance
About You
You are a pragmatic, resilient and experienced safety leader who thrives in complex, people-focused environments. You bring:
  • Extensive previous WHS experience including a good working knowledge of WHS legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Confidence navigating psychosocial risk and high-risk service settings
  • A hands-on leadership style balanced with strategic thinking
  • Strong working knowledge of Victorian WHS and Injury Management legislation
  • The ability to influence executives while coaching frontline coordinators
