Reporting to an experienced HR & Safety Director, this is an opportunity to make a visible impact in a role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on operational support.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Health & Safety Business Partner, you will partner closely with leaders across the organisation to shape and deliver a best-practice WHS function. Working alongside the HR & Safety Director, you will help develop and execute the organisation's WHS strategy while providing practical support to improve safety outcomes across the business. This is a broad, influential role suited to someone who enjoys balancing strategy, stakeholder engagement, governance and operational delivery. You will be based at their Clayton manufacturing site with the option of having one day working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on WHS legislation, compliance and risk management.
- Lead incident investigations, identify root causes and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Manage injury management and Return to Work programs, supporting positive rehabilitation outcomes.
- Facilitate audits, risk assessments and emergency preparedness activities.
- Monitor WHS performance through reporting, dashboards and trend analysis, presenting meaningful insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and medical providers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including the implementation and optimisation of WHS management systems.
You are an experienced Health & Safety professional who enjoys influencing leaders, partnering with operations and driving meaningful cultural change. You thrive in a hands-on environment, have strong commercial acumen and enjoy balancing strategic initiatives with operational delivery.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a Health & Safety Business Partner or Senior Advisor WHS role.
- Previous experience within FMCG and/or manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
- Experience managing incident investigations, risk management, injury management and Return to Work.
- Proven ability to coach, influence and build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety as a minimum, with tertiary qualifications highly regarded.
