About the Role
We are seeking an Senior Safety Systems Advisor to deliver the development, improvement, and implementation of a WHS management system.
While an overarching enterprise framework exists, individual business units have developed their own systems. This role will report to Senior HSE Manager and you will work closely with leadership and key stakeholders to align these systems, ensuring consistency while meeting the needs of each unit.
This position has a strong focus on writing, consultation, and system development in line with ISO standards, shaping the WHS framework, building assurance processes, and supporting both employee and contractor safety outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build a culture where health and safety is embedded in business practices.
- Review, maintain, and improve the WHS management system in line with legislation and continuous improvement principles.
- Develop new standards, procedures, and supporting documentation that are practical and aligned with business needs.
- Prepare communication packs, consult widely, and run working groups with site-based teams to ensure effective system implementation.
- Undertake gap analysis against ISO/global standards and local legislative requirements.
- Support contractor management by aligning contractor WHS systems with business requirements.
- Experienced WHS professional with a strong technical background and system development expertise.
- Skilled in consultation, stakeholder engagement, and workforce-friendly communication.
- Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Solutions-focused, proactive, and able to prioritise effectively.
