About the Opportunity

The Safe Step is partnering with a well established global manufacturing organisation with operations across Australia and New Zealand.

With a significant manufacturing footprint, the business is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Manager to lead Safety across the region. This is a key leadership role responsible for setting the strategic direction while ensuring safety is embedded into day to day operations across sites.

Reporting to the executive team, you'll partner closely with operational leaders to strengthen safety capability, drive consistency across the business and continue building a positive safety culture.
   
About the Role

This role combines strategic leadership with operational engagement. You'll be responsible for leading the ANZ safety strategy while providing hands on support and direction to site based teams, ensuring consistent standards, strong governance and practical safety outcomes.
  
You'll work across manufacturing, warehousing and corporate environments, influencing leaders at all levels and ensuring safety remains a key business priority.
   
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Safety strategy across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Provide strategic safety advice to the executive leadership team.
  • Lead and develop site based safety professionals across multiple locations.
  • Drive consistent safety governance, standards and management systems across ANZ.
  • Partner with operational leaders to strengthen safety leadership capability and accountability.
  • Oversee critical risk management across manufacturing, warehousing and office environments.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand health and safety legislation.
  • Lead serious incident investigations, regulatory engagement and audit activities.
  • Monitor safety performance, identify trends and provide meaningful reporting to senior leadership.
  • Support business change by embedding safety into projects, operational improvements and engineering initiatives.
About You

You're an experienced health and safety leader who enjoys working across both strategy and operations.

You understand the realities of a manufacturing environment and know how to build credibility with frontline teams while influencing senior leaders. You're comfortable challenging existing thinking, developing capability and creating practical solutions that improve both safety performance and business outcomes.
   
You'll Bring
  • Senior Health & Safety leadership experience within manufacturing, FMCG or another complex operational environment.
  • Experience leading multi-site safety functions across geographically dispersed operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian and New Zealand health and safety legislation and contemporary safety practices.
  • Demonstrated success developing safety strategy, governance frameworks and management systems.
  • Experience coaching leaders and building organisational safety capability.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
