The Safe Step is partnering with a well established FMCG organisation operating across Australia and New Zealand, with a significant manufacturing footprint and a diverse customer base.
With strong foundations in place, the business is entering a new phase of its safety journey. Rather than maintaining the status quo, they are looking for a leader who can take a fresh view of risk, culture and capability, helping create a more proactive and engaging approach to safety across the region.
This role has been elevated to provide greater strategic direction, stronger technical leadership and broader influence across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute an ANZ wide safety strategy aligned to business objectives
- Assess current systems, risks and ways of working, identifying opportunities to strengthen performance
- Build a practical roadmap that balances immediate priorities with longer term cultural change
- Drive a shift towards proactive and behaviour based safety approaches
- Strengthen leadership capability and accountability across manufacturing and operational teams
- Partner closely with executive leaders to influence decision making and organisational direction
- Improve consistency, governance and standards across multiple sites
- Provide expert guidance across key risk areas, including psychosocial health, injury management and wellbeing initiatives
You may already be leading safety across a large operational environment or looking for a broader role where you can genuinely influence strategy and culture.
You enjoy understanding how a business operates, challenging existing thinking and bringing people with you on the journey. Equally comfortable on site or in the boardroom, you're able to turn technical risk and compliance requirements into practical outcomes that resonate with leaders and frontline teams alike.
You'll Bring
- Senior safety leadership experience within FMCG, manufacturing, logistics or a similarly complex operational environment
- Demonstrated success building safety capability and influencing cultural change
- Strong knowledge of contemporary health, safety and wellbeing practices
- Experience developing strategy, governance frameworks and operational improvement initiatives
- The ability to engage, influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels
- Commercial awareness, sound judgement and a pragmatic leadership style
