About Them
The Safe Step is proud to be partnering with an Australian organisation whose operations stretch from Australia's southern shores to Alaska's frozen frontier. Employing more than 5,000 people across multiple countries and operating a diverse portfolio of high-risk assets, this organisation is committed to delivering reliable operations while shaping the future of its sector.

About the Role
The core purpose of this role is to develop and support the implementation of the organisation's health and safety strategic vision. The position focuses on delivering fit-for-purpose occupational health, occupational hygiene and injury management frameworks, processes, capability and learning that centre on preventing harm, minimising risk, meeting compliance obligations, and promoting a culture of care and curiosity.

Essential to the success of the role is the ability to navigate a large, high-risk business, engage stakeholders in the strategy and associated programs, and collaborate to effectively implement solutions that drive continuous improvement in health outcomes.

About You
As an exceptional leader, you will bring:
  • Experience designing and implementing occupational health strategies and programs across broad risk profiles, incorporating psychosocial risk, fitness for work, occupational health and occupational hygiene.
  • The ability to partner collaboratively, engage and influence across multiple leadership stakeholder groups.
  • Experience in a leadership or management position, with demonstrated leadership capability.
  • Strong working knowledge of HSE legislation, risk management and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in uplifting organisational health and safety maturity and capability.
  • The ability to bring a clear lens of what "good" looks like and translate this into practical, operational outcomes across the business.
  • Tertiary qualifications in OHS, Allied Health, Occupational Hygiene or a related discipline (minimum Degree level).
  • Demonstrated experience within large, complex, blue-collar organisations operating in high-risk industries.
