The Company
A truly iconic Australian business with a rich and proud heritage is seeking an experienced Health and Safety leader. Having undergone significant positive change, the organisation is entering an exciting new phase and is now looking to appoint an experienced professional to join its established, risk-focused Health & Safety team.

The Role
You will oversee a large number of sites throughout the NSW region for a high-risk business unit focused on the manufacturing of building materials and supplies.

Leading the NSW business with four direct reports, you will guide the ongoing journey to achieve a positive safety culture. Reporting through a matrix to the EGM Operations and Head of HSW, you will play a pivotal role in driving a culture that embraces both strategic and operational leadership in health and safety. You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to drive cultural change, accountability, and empowerment. As a key member of the leadership team, you will motivate and lead your team across NSW, while supporting operational staff and site leadership.

Your Experience
In addition to strong leadership skills and the ability to build credibility across the business, you will have:

  • Experience managing a H&S team within heavy industry
  • The ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Hands-on safety leadership across multiple sites
  • Experience coordinating the activities and priorities of your team
  • The ability to provide strategic and pragmatic advice to business units
  • Proven capability in risk management, assessments, and incident analysis
  • Experience developing training and education plans based on competency gaps you identify in managers across the business
