This is a corporate role for a technically strong safety professional who enjoys working with complex risk, partnering with leaders and influencing improved critical risk practices across the business.
You will play a key role in strengthening the management of high-consequence hazards, improving critical control effectiveness and supporting the prevention of serious incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical advice on critical risks and high-consequence hazards
- Design practical and effective critical controls
- Lead and facilitate high-risk assessments and critical risk workshops
- Guide leaders and operational teams through critical risk processes
- Identify control gaps, emerging risks and improvement opportunities
- Strengthen critical risk frameworks, procedures and supporting tools
- Use incident, hazard and risk data to drive proactive interventions
- Support control verification, assurance activities, audits and governance reviews
- Coach leaders and teams to strengthen control ownership and operating discipline
- Deliver practical workshops, coaching and capability-building initiatives
- Partner with operational leaders and safety teams to embed effective safety practices
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in WHS, OHS, Risk Management, Health Science or a related discipline
- Extensive critical risk experience within high-risk or complex environments
- 7+ years' experience in technical safety or risk leadership roles
- Strong expertise in high-consequence hazards and critical control management
- Experience with Bowtie, risk matrices and critical control verification
- Proven ability to lead and facilitate complex risk assessments
- Strong stakeholder influence skills across all levels of an organisation
- Solid knowledge of WHS legislation and safety management systems
- Ability to turn complex strategy and technical information into practical operational solution
