Safety Risk Specialist

Safety Risk Specialist

Work Type:

Full Time

Location:

Sydney - NSW

  • Broad remit spanning WHS, operational risk, assurance and compliance
  • Highly visible role partnering directly with senior operational leaders
  • Blend of field based engagement, governance and improvement initiatives
  •
Join a well established national organisation where safety, risk management and operational excellence are receiving significant investment and leadership attention.
This is an opportunity for an experienced safety professional to step into a broad, influential role supporting leaders across a  small but multi site operational network. Working closely with managers and stakeholders, you will help strengthen safety culture, improve risk management capability, drive compliance outcomes and provide practical advice that makes a genuine difference to day to day operations.
This is not a purely systems or compliance role. You will be equally comfortable engaging with frontline teams, coaching leaders, conducting investigations and audits, analysing trends, and contributing to governance and assurance activities.

What You Will Be Doing
Reporting into a senior operational leader, you will:
  • Partner with leaders to identify hazards, assess risks and implement effective controls
  • Lead and support incident investigations, ensuring learnings are embedded across the business
  • Conduct audits, inspections and assurance activities across multiple sites
  • Support contractor safety, supplier due diligence and operational compliance
  • Coordinate safety initiatives, training programs and consultation activities
  • Monitor performance data and provide clear reporting, insights and recommendations
  • Support governance, compliance and risk management obligations
  • Assist with workplace injury management and return to work coordination
  • Contribute to safety, risk and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation
What We Are Looking For
You may currently be working as a WHS Advisor, Safety Specialist or Safety Business Partner and be looking for a broader role where you can influence outcomes beyond compliance. To be successful, you will bring:
  • Experience supporting safety within operational, service based, logistics, automotive, industrial, retail, facilities or multi site environments
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and risk management principles
  • Experience conducting investigations, audits and risk assessments
  • The ability to build credibility with leaders and frontline teams alike
  • Strong reporting, stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • A practical, solutions focused approach with the confidence to provide constructive challenge
Why This Opportunity?
  • Broad role spanning safety, risk, governance and operational improvement
  • High visibility position with exposure to senior stakeholders
  • Opportunity to influence culture and uplift capability across a national business
  • Strong leadership support and commitment to safety
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Career development within a respected and growing organisation
