About the Role
Reporting to the HSE Projects Lead, this position plays a key role in a major program of work focused on reviewing, uplifting, and standardising safety systems and risk practices across the business.
You will work closely with operational leaders, subject matter experts, and established safety professionals to support the development and improvement of risk management frameworks, with a strong focus on Safe Control of Work and routine task risk assessments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and translating existing risk documentation such as Risk Assessments, JSAs, and SWMS into consistent, activity based formats
- Supporting and facilitating structured risk assessment workshops with operational teams
- Partnering with frontline leaders and Business Risk Teams to validate hazards, controls, and risk ratings
- Ensuring risk assessments align with legislative requirements, governance frameworks, and enterprise standards
- Identifying gaps, duplication, and opportunities for improvement across safety systems and processes
- Supporting uplift in risk capability through coaching, guidance, and practical engagement
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of safety tools, templates, and procedures

- Strong attention to detail and an interest in systems, governance, and documentation quality
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS, Risk Management, Engineering, or a related discipline (completed or in progress)
- An understanding of WHS legislation and risk management principles will be highly regarded
