About the Role
This role will see you lead a team of experienced Safety Business Partners, working closely with operations, executive leadership, and other key stakeholders to implement and enhance the organisation’s safety strategy. With a strong focus on proactive risk management, systems improvement, and frontline engagement, your impact will help shape a culture of care, accountability and continuous improvement across the business. Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead, coach and develop a national team of Safety Business Partners
- Provide technical safety expertise and support to regional and senior leaders
- Embed and drive the WHS management system across the organisation
- Oversee incident investigations, audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Partner with stakeholders to drive a strong, proactive safety culture
- Develop HSW improvement plans aligned with organisational priorities
- Analyse safety performance data and provide strategic reporting insights
- Support regulatory compliance, including liaison with external bodies
- Champion early intervention and collaborate on injury management strategies
- Lead the delivery of targeted safety training and capability building
You’re a hands-on, solutions-focused safety professional who thrives on engaging with people and lifting safety maturity. You enjoy balancing strategic work with operational support and have the ability to lead with both heart and head.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in WHS leadership roles, ideally in complex, service-driven industries (healthcare, aged care, logistics, manufacturing, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation across multiple jurisdictions
- Well-developed ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated success in leading safety teams and implementing WHS programs
- Experience driving cultural change and stakeholder engagement
- Solid analytical, reporting and systems skills
- Tertiary qualifications in OHS, Health Science, or a related field
- Exposure to self-insurance models is highly regarded
- National leadership role with influence at senior levels
