This role offers the opportunity to shape culture, simplify systems, and make a meaningful difference across statewide operations. We’re seeking a Safety Manager who can influence leaders, build psychological safety, strengthen critical risk controls, and create a Safety Management System that genuinely supports the way work gets done.

About the Role


In this safety leadership role, you’ll drive the shift towards a culture built on trust, learning and operational excellence. You’ll partner closely with leaders and field teams to understand work-as-done, remove friction, improve usability of systems, and ensure critical risks are well controlled.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your work will directly improve how people experience safety every day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Modernise and simplify the WHSMS
  • Strengthen critical risk and controls
  • Build psychological safety and leadership capability
  • Improve learning from events
  • Enhance data and reporting
  • Support psychosocial risk and wellbeing
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in high-risk or asset-intensive operations is preferred
  • Proven ability to build psychological safety and lead cultural change
  • Strong background in critical risk/controls and Safety in Design
  • Ability to simplify systems and design practical, easy-to-use procedures
  • Strong coaching, facilitation and influencing skills
  • Workers’ compensation and RTW experience
