Reporting to the General Manager, this role will drive the development and execution of the safety strategy, ensuring alignment with legislative requirements and best practice. You will play a key role in influencing leaders, improving systems and behaviours, and fostering a proactive, people-first approach to safety and wellbeing.
This is a highly visible leadership role suited to someone who thrives on building capability, driving change, and delivering continuous improvement across complex operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the safety strategy across the Southern region VIC / NSW / ACT
- Lead and develop a high-performing safety team
- Partner with senior leaders to influence safety outcomes and build capability
- Maintain and enhance safety management systems, policies, and procedures
- Lead audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support organisational change and drive engagement across the business
- Proven experience in a senior safety leadership role within trade, retail, logistics, or industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of WHS/OHS legislation and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and engage senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- High levels of integrity, resilience, and emotional intelligence
- Relevant safety qualifications (Diploma minimum; tertiary highly regarded)
