The Safe Step is partnering with a well established national organisation with a diverse operational footprint across Australia.
With a strong foundation already in place, the business is focused on the next phase of its safety journey, strengthening governance, improving consistency and making its safety systems simpler, more practical and easier for leaders and frontline teams to use.
As Safety Compliance Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping how safety is supported across the business. Working within the corporate safety team, you'll take ownership of the safety management system, lead compliance and assurance activities, and partner with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the safety management system, ensuring it remains practical, effective and fit for purpose.
- Lead the organisation's compliance and internal audit program, identifying opportunities to strengthen governance and improve performance.
- Review and enhance safety systems, processes and tools to improve usability and consistency across the business.
- Analyse safety data and performance trends to identify risks and inform continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coach and support leaders to build capability and embed effective safety practices.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver practical, sustainable improvements.
- Contribute to broader safety initiatives that support the organisation's long term strategy.
You're an experienced safety professional who enjoys improving systems, strengthening compliance and helping organisations work smarter.
You understand that good governance isn't about creating more process, it's about building practical systems that people can use and leaders can rely on.
You'll Bring:
- Experience managing and improving safety management systems.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, compliance and governance.
- Experience leading compliance, assurance or internal audit programs.
- The ability to analyse safety data and translate insights into meaningful action.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and coaching skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of an organisation.
- Experience working within multi-site or geographically dispersed environments.
- A practical, collaborative and solutions focused approach.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of an established safety framework and help shape its next phase of development.
You'll join a collaborative team with leadership support, giving you the autonomy to improve systems, simplify processes and strengthen safety capability across the business.
If you're looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact while working across both strategy and execution, we'd love to hear from you.
