About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Business Partner to join their Property and Construction team. This is a pivotal role supporting a major Australian organisation's property portfolio, encompassing greenfield and brownfield developments including warehouses, offices, shopping centres, mixed use developments, and the renewal and maintenance of retail assets.

As a trusted partner, you will work with operational and functional leaders to develop and implement safety strategies that demonstrably reduce risk and improve safety performance. You will work across the entire property lifecycle, from design through to construction and facilities management, building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.

This role offers the opportunity to influence safety culture across a diverse property portfolio whilst working within a modern matrix environment. You will be the go to safety expert, coaching leaders and teams to embed safety ownership and accountability throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with operational leaders and frontline teams to drive improved safety outcomes
  • Provide expert guidance to design teams on safety considerations for property and construction projects
  • Lead and oversee incident management, emergency response and safety investigations
  • Conduct site visits to assess compliance and provide guidance on safety expectations
  • Prepare management reports on project safety performance, compliance and critical risks
  • Contribute to executive level reporting on safety performance
  • Coach line leaders to ensure safety accountability remains with operational teams
About You
You are a pragmatic safety professional with deep construction and property management experience. You understand how to translate strategic safety objectives into practical, executable plans that deliver measurable results. Ideally you will have:
  • Minimum 5 years in health and safety roles, predominantly in commercial construction
  • Extensive onsite safety support experience in construction projects with firsthand knowledge of construction related risks
  • Experience working within client, principal and subcontractor arrangements in construction environments
  • Proven ability to manage competing stakeholder interests and drive win win safety outcomes
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (Bachelor's Degree highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of commercial property management and associated safety risks
  • Excellent business acumen with ability to balance commercial and safety priorities
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to adapt communication style to different audiences
