About the Organisation
This purpose led service provider has over 50 years of experience delivering community services across NSW, including disability support, mental health, Aboriginal programs, aged care and homelessness. With a workforce of across NSW, the organisation operates residential and community based programs across metro and regional locations.
The business has had renewal under new leadership, with a strong focus on rebuilding trust, strengthening governance and embedding a values driven culture. Significant investment is being made in people, safety and capability building.

The Role
This is a hands on builder role suited to an experienced WHS generalist who enjoys lifting safety maturity and embedding consistent, contemporary practices. Reporting to the General Manager People and Culture, you will lead the end to end WHS and wellbeing function, rebuilding systems, strengthening compliance and driving proactive safety culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review WHS maturity and deliver a practical safety and wellbeing strategy
  • Rebuild and maintain WHS systems, policies and frameworks
  • Lead incident investigations, audits and corrective actions across NSW
  • Oversee workers compensation and return to work practices
  • Deliver WHS training in partnership with Learning and Development
  • Build strong relationships with leaders, workers and external providers
  • Provide clear advice on WHS legislation and risk management
  • Lead and support the WHS team
About You
  • Experienced WHS generalist with strong audit and investigation capability
  • Proven experience rebuilding or uplifting WHS systems
  • Practical, solutions focused and comfortable operating on the ground
  • Experience in community services, health or disability highly regarded
  • Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Willingness to travel regularly across metropolitan and regional NSW
