The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Risk, the Risk & Safety Specialist will support health and safety across day-to-day operations and a diverse calendar of events.
This is a hands-on and varied role where you will be visible on the ground, working closely with Operations, contractors and stakeholders to identify and manage risks and provide practical safety advice.
This is an opportunity to gain exposure across a fast-moving and genuinely interesting operational environment.
You will:
- Conduct site inspections, audits and incident investigations
- Support the ongoing improvement of safety systems, policies and procedures
- Manage and engage with contractors, including monitoring high-risk work
- Support contractor inductions, safety training and capability development
- Identify risks and ensure appropriate controls and corrective actions are implemented
You are a practical and engaging safety professional who enjoys being out on the ground and working directly with people. You can build trust quickly, communicate confidently with a broad range of stakeholders and take a collaborative rather than purely compliance-driven approach.
You will bring:
- Relevant health and safety experience within an operational environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Contractor management experience
- Exposure to incident investigations, audits, inspections and risk management
- A proactive, adaptable and hands-on approach
The organisation offers flexible working arrangements where operational requirements allow, alongside five weeks' annual leave and additional time-in-lieu for weekend work completed.
Due to the nature of the organisation, occasional work outside standard business hours will be required to support events.
