An opportunity for a senior Health & Safety leader to take a key role across safety systems, compliance and assurance supporting operations across multiple Australian states.
  
This role will provide leadership across the organisation’s safety management system and assurance agenda, while continuing to provide practical, expert safety advice and support across the business.
  
This is a broad, multi-state role requiring someone who can operate strategically while remaining close to operations - working with leaders, employees, contractors and regulators to strengthen systems, lift capability and drive continuous improvement.
  
The role
You will:
  • Lead and continuously improve health and safety standards, systems, tools and processes
  • Provide specialist advice across safety legislation, risk, systems and regulatory requirements
  • Lead the regulatory compliance framework across safety and broader technical obligations
  • Oversee assurance and audit programs, including the effectiveness of critical risk controls and management systems    
What you will bring
We are looking for an experienced safety professional with strong technical depth, commercial judgement and the ability to influence.

You will bring:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety, Health Sciences, Engineering or a related disciplines
  • Leadership experience and influencing across broad stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining safety management systems, standards and procedures
  • Strong assurance and audit capability, including developing programs and translating findings into measurable improvement

  • You will be someone who builds strong relationships while maintaining independent professional judgement
  • You are practical, resilient and comfortable working through complexity, with the ability to see the connection between operational risk, management systems, regulatory obligations and business performance
  • You will be equally comfortable providing strategic advice, challenging thinking, coaching leaders and getting into the detail when required.
