About the Role
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to effectively implement key HSE programmes and initiatives to mitigate hazards and reduce risks, ensure compliance, improve workplace safety, and reduce incident/injury rates
- Provide strong and visible leadership focusing on building a proactive HSE culture
- Provide expert and relevant safety advice and support to leadership teams
- Develop, simplify and embed fit-for-purpose policies and procedures, programs, systems, tools and training
- Provide insight and analysis on safety data and metrics
- Build operational leader capability in influencing line management and frontline leader’s ownership of HSE culture, behaviour, and outcomes
- Contribute to a culture that is focused on continuous improvement by identifying and supporting improvement initiatives and opportunities
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS or a related discipline
- HSE Leadership experience at a state or regional level within an organisation with a large blue-collar workforce
- Proven track record of delivering on safety initiatives that have a real impact
- Experience in the interpretation of safety legislation, policies and procedures
- Ability to prioritise activities while managing multiple competing demands
- Ability to work autonomously with limited direction
- Ability to influence outcomes outside the span of control
- An interest in environment and sustainability (previous experience highly regarded)
