With a clear focus on injury prevention, health promotion, and wellbeing, they are now seeking a passionate and experienced Injury Prevention & Wellbeing Coordinator to join their Geraldton-based team.
The Opportunity
Due to the ongoing growth of the business they are looking to hire a dedicated Injury Prevention & Wellbeing Coordinator. You will be a key member of the WHS team and shape and embed proactive injury prevention strategies and health promotion initiatives across the business. This role is about more than injury management — it’s about supporting workers, empowering employees, coaching leaders, and fostering a culture that prioritises physical and psychological health every day.
With approximately 80% of your focus on prevention and wellbeing, you’ll lead targeted campaigns, deliver engaging training, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to reduce risk and enhance workforce resilience. Injury management and return-to-work coordination are also key, making up around 20% of your role due to the low number of injuries across the business.
This new role will allow you create a streamlined and effective framework and process from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead job task assessments to identify and mitigate injury risks across operations
- Proactively review pre-employment medical assessments in line with job demands and legal compliance
- Design, implement, and monitor health promotion and wellness programs tailored to workforce needs
- Deliver engaging injury prevention training to managers and employees
- Develop accessible injury prevention resources such as guidelines, fact sheets, and videos
- Partner with WHS teams to analyse injury data and implement preventative controls
- Champion mental health and resilience initiatives alongside internal and external providers
- Act as first point of contact for workplace injuries, coordinating early intervention and injury claims
- Manage RTW programs, collaborating with healthcare providers and insurers
- Provide regular injury and wellbeing trend reports with actionable recommendations to management
- Foster strong relationships across teams to embed safe work practices and wellbeing culture
- Proven experience in injury prevention, health promotion, and wellness program delivery
- Strong understanding of WA workers’ compensation legislation and return-to-work processes
- Skilled in engaging diverse workforces, facilitating training, and influencing leaders
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills with a collaborative mindset
- WA Return to Work Coordinator training (or willingness to obtain)
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety, Personal Injury Management, or similar (desirable)
- Mental Health First Aid certification (desirable)
