The role sits within a complex, multi-site hospital environment across NSW and ACT. The Opportunity In this role, you will take ownership of a diverse workers’ compensation and injury management portfolio, partnering closely with leaders, insurers, and treatment providers to deliver strong return-to-work outcomes and support a positive safety culture.
The position can be based anywhere in Sydney, with a hybrid working arrangement. Site visits are required on an as-needed basis (generally 1–2 days per week), across various hospital locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an end-to-end injury management and workers’ compensation portfolio (approx. 40 claims)
- Drive early intervention and effective return-to-work outcomes
- Partner with managers to build capability and confidence in injury management processes
- Liaise with insurers and key stakeholders (EML in NSW, GIO in ACT)
- Manage and review RTW plans, including manual handling and psychosocial claims
- Support compliance with NSW and ACT workers’ compensation legislation
- Provide pragmatic, people-focused advice in a dynamic operational environment
- Contribute to continuous improvement across injury management systems and processes
- Proven experience in injury management / workers’ compensation, ideally within healthcare, aged care, or complex operational environments
- Strong working knowledge of NSW workers’ compensation legislation (ACT exposure highly regarded)
- Confident managing stakeholders and building trusted relationships
- Organised, flexible, and solutions-focused
- Comfortable working autonomously in a changing environment
- Allied health background (e.g. OT, Physio, EP, Rehab) highly regarded but not essential
- Open to candidates at different career stages — capability and mindset are key
- Initial 3-month contract (high likelihood of extension or permanency)
- Full-time (5 days per week required)
