About the Opportunity

Our client, a Sydney-based higher education institution organisation is seeking an experienced Injury Management Specialist. This is a hands-on role for someone who can bring structure, governance, and professional injury management expertise to the team.

The successful candidate will work across HR, Employee Relations, and Health & Wellbeing teams to improve injury and return-to-work processes. The environment currently has minimal structure, inconsistent processes, and a mix of ad hoc case management, so there’s a real opportunity to make an immediate impact. The business is also self- insured.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and manage open injury and return-to-work cases, both work-related and non-work-related.
  • Establish consistent triage, governance, and communication processes.
  • Prepare professional correspondence with staff, doctors, and external providers.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external providers to ensure effective case management.
  • Identify systemic issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Support the team to implement sustainable injury management practices.
About You
  • Proven experience in injury management, return-to-work, or claims management, ideally within a self-insured environment.
  • Strong knowledge of injury management processes and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to quickly assess complex cases and provide practical, effective solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Calm, pragmatic, and able to influence across teams.
Contract Details
  • 3-month contract with potential extension and/ or permanency.
  • Flexible, hybrid work arrangement
