The Opportunity
The Safe Step is partnering with a leading manufacturing organisation to recruit an experienced Injury Management Advisor.
Reporting into the Injury Management and Workers Comp Lead, this role will take responsibility for Injury Management and Return to Work programs at a large site in Newcastle. You will work closely with operational leaders, injured workers, insurers and medical providers to achieve positive recovery outcomes while ensuring legislative compliance and best practice injury management processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Return to Work Coordinator, Rehabilitation Consultant or Injury Management professional looking for a highly visible role with genuine influence across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end to end Workers Compensation and Injury Management claims
  • Develop and monitor Return to Work and suitable duties plans
  • Coordinate early intervention strategies to support successful recovery outcomes
  • Liaise with insurers, rehabilitation providers, treating practitioners and other stakeholders
  • Attend case conferences and medical appointments where required
  • Provide expert advice to leaders on Workers Compensation and Return to Work obligations
  • Monitor claims performance and identify opportunities to improve outcomes and reduce claim costs
  • Maintain accurate injury management records and reporting
  • Deliver training and coaching to leaders on Injury Management processes
  • Contribute to injury prevention initiatives and broader health and safety objectives
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Workers Compensation and WHS legislation
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Demonstrated experience managing Workers Compensation, Slef Insyrance, and Return to Work programs in NSW
  • Current NSW Return to Work Coordinator certification
  • Experience managing physical and psychosocial injuries
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • The ability to influence, coach and support leaders in achieving positive recovery outcomes
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Allied Health, Rehabilitation, Injury Management or related qualifications will be highly regarded
