The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, the HSE Operations Manager role will play a pivotal role enhancing safety performance, coaching the team, and promoting positive safety culture in a high-risk organisation with diverse, operational business units.

You will be a highly visible leader, acting as a key support to the Head of HSE. This is a critical senior role that requires a strong operational mindset, with the ability to build trust, influence diverse stakeholders, and connect with both experienced and emerging employees at the front line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uplift capability within the safety team, ensuring they are equipped to constructively challenge and support the business.
  • Engage directly with frontline operations and leadership teams to drive safety ownership and embed critical risk frameworks.
  • Work across multiple business units and a large field workforce including Operations, Capital Projects, Renewables, and Contracts.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships across the business and be known as a ‘go-to’ leader in safety.
  • Lead and support a large HSE team.
  • Contribute to broader safety initiatives, injury management, and performance improvement.
  • Tailor engagement and influencing styles to partner with a complex and diverse workforce.

About You
  • Proven experience leading safety in complex, high-risk environments.
  • Outstanding communication, influence, and relationship building skills.
  • Strong operational grounding and ability to engage and build partnerships.
  • Experienced in coaching and developing safety teams, and building capability.
  • Respected change agent who can earn trust and foster buy-in.
  • Resilient, proactive, values-led and able to work at pace with a clear sense of purpose and drive.

$250,000 - $270,000 TFR + Bonus
