An established Australian organisation operating across transport, fleet and essential services, with a strong focus on operational performance, continuous improvement and responsible business practices. With a geographically diverse workforce and operations spanning multiple locations, the organisation has a strong track record in safety, supported by established processes, systems and frameworks that provide a solid foundation for continued improvement.
As the business continues to evolve, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced HSE Business Partner to join the team in Queensland. This is an opportunity to work within a well-established safety framework, partnering with operational leaders and frontline teams to build on existing strengths, strengthen safety leadership and deliver meaningful improvements across a diverse, high-risk operational environment.
The Role
This is a hands-on, operationally focused role where you will partner with leaders across transport, fleet and field-based operations to further strengthen an already established safety culture.
Working within existing HSE systems, processes and frameworks, you will support the consistent application of safety standards while identifying opportunities to enhance risk management and operational outcomes. Working closely with the State leadership team and broader HSE function, you will provide practical advice, coach leaders and help translate business strategy into meaningful action.
With established foundations already in place, the focus is on collaboration, continuous improvement and ensuring safety practices remain effective, consistent and relevant to the realities of day-to-day operations.
Additionally, you will:
- Build trusted relationships with operational leaders and frontline teams, providing practical coaching and guidance to strengthen safety ownership and accountability.
- Partner with State leadership to implement HSE strategies, initiatives and improvement plans aligned with operational priorities.
- Provide expert advice on safety risks associated with transport, fleet, mobile plant and field-based activities.
- Support incident investigations, identify underlying causes and drive the implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Monitor safety performance, analyse trends and identify opportunities to further strengthen existing systems and controls.
- Deliver targeted safety initiatives, training and coaching to build leadership capability and workforce engagement.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a Health, Safety and Environment role within transport, fleet, logistics, construction or another high-risk operational environment.
- The ability to build strong relationships and influence leaders at all levels, including where you do not have direct authority.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and coaching skills.
- Experience supporting incident investigations, implementing corrective actions and monitoring safety performance.
- Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management principles and safety management systems.
- Relevant WHS qualifications, ideally at Diploma level or above.
- Able to travel locally in the Sunshine Coast area and into FNQ.
If you are an experienced HSE professional who enjoys partnering with operations, building on established safety practices and making a tangible difference to safety outcomes, we would welcome your application.
