HSE Advisor

Work Type:

Full Time

Location:

Sydney - NSW

  • 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a growing renewable energy business with an expanding portfolio of projects and operational assets across Australia.

Working across development, construction and operations, the HSE Advisor will provide practical support and guidance to project teams, operational leaders and contractors across the business.

The role has a strong focus on contractor management, risk and assurance, while also supporting incident management, reporting, HSE systems and broader improvement initiatives. Rather than building from scratch, you will be joining a business with established frameworks and standards that now need to be consistently applied as the organisation and its portfolio continue to grow.

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with project, development and operational teams to provide practical HSE advice and support
  • Strengthen contractor management, oversight and assurance across projects and operational assets
  • Support risk management activities and ensure key HSE risks are understood and effectively managed
  • Participate in incident investigations, reviews and corrective actions, ensuring learnings are carried through the business
  • Coordinate audit and assurance activities and support the close out of identified actions
  • Contribute to HSE performance reporting, including monthly and board reporting
  • Support the consistent application of existing HSE policies, standards and management systems
  • Build the confidence and capability of leaders and teams to take greater ownership of safety
  • Identify practical opportunities to simplify and improve HSE processes as the organisation continues to evolve
What You Bring
  • Strong HSE experience gained within renewable energy, infrastructure, construction, utilities or another project and asset focused environment
  • Experience working across construction projects, operational assets and contractor environments
  • Sound technical capability across HSE management systems, risk, incidents, audits and assurance
  • A practical approach with the ability to balance HSE requirements with commercial and operational priorities
  • Strong relationship building skills and the credibility to work effectively with contractors, project teams, operational leaders and senior stakeholders
  • The ability to influence outcomes and build safety ownership through engagement
  • Confidence working autonomously across multiple priorities and geographically dispersed stakeholders
  • A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to operate comfortably within a growing and evolving organisation
  • Relevant qualifications in Work Health and Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline
Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is a broad HSE role offering exposure well beyond a single construction project or operational site.

You will work across the lifecycle of renewable energy assets, partnering with teams across development, construction, operations and asset management while gaining visibility across a growing national portfolio.

The business already has solid HSE foundations in place. The opportunity is to strengthen how these are applied in practice, improve contractor assurance and help leaders take greater ownership of safety as the organisation grows.

For someone looking to broaden their renewable energy experience, work with a diverse group of stakeholders and contribute to a business going through continued growth, this offers plenty of variety and scope.
