About the Role
As the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partnering Team Leader, you will lead a small team of HSW professionals while also directly managing one of the health and safety portfolios within the organisation. With flexible working arrangements, you will have the balance of working from the office and from home to best support your team and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a business partner for your portfolio, providing practical, operational WHS advice and support.
- Embedding safety and wellbeing into everyday practice, with a focus on psychosocial risk and legislative compliance.
- Overseeing audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments, ensuring robust and proactive controls.
- Developing and refining HSW policies, procedures, and training programs tailored to diverse workforce needs.
- Managing return-to-work and wellbeing initiatives to support safe, sustainable outcomes.
- Reporting on safety performance, trends, and risks to inform leadership decision-making.
About You
You are an experienced HSW professional who can confidently balance leadership with hands-on operational delivery. You bring strong technical knowledge, an understanding of psychosocial legislation, and the ability to engage with a workforce that operates across varied environments and interacts directly with the public.
To be successful, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety (minimum Cert IV).
- Demonstrated experience in both leadership and operational WHS delivery.
- Strong understanding of psychosocial risk and related legislative requirements.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and influencing skills.
- Background in not-for-profit, healthcare, or organisations with a diverse risk profile involving public interaction (highly regarded).
