We are partnering with a leading Australasian manufacturing and distribution organisation within the FMCG sector to appoint an experienced Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor at one of their key production sites in Western Sydney.
This is a highly visible, hands-on site-based role where you will be responsible for embedding a strong and proactive safety culture, partnering closely with operational leaders, and driving continuous improvement across WHS and wellbeing performance.
You will play a critical role in influencing behaviours on the ground – not just through systems and compliance, but through trust, credibility, and strong stakeholder relationships. This is a role where soft skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to engage at all levels are just as important as technical WHS capability.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the site WHS management system
- Partner with site leadership to build capability and embed a positive safety culture
- Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections, audits and hazard identification activities
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring effective corrective actions
- Drive injury management and return-to-work processes in collaboration with central teams
- Develop and deliver WHS training, inductions and capability-building programs
- Monitor, analyse and report WHS performance metrics to site and group stakeholders
- Facilitate WHS consultation processes including safety committees and toolbox talks
- Ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation, codes of practice and company standards
- Support the ongoing improvement of risk management systems and site documentation
You are a confident, people-focused WHS professional who thrives in operational environments and enjoys being present on the floor with teams.
You will bring:
- Formal qualification in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent)
- 3–5+ years’ experience in WHS roles within manufacturing, FMCG or similar environments
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management and incident investigation
- Proven ability to influence leaders and frontline teams to drive behavioural change
- Experience supporting injury management and return-to-work processes
- Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills
- Confidence working in fast-paced, operationally complex environments
- A practical, hands-on approach with strong emotional intelligence and resilience
This is a business that places a strong emphasis on values-led leadership, collaboration and continuous improvement. You will be joining a team that expects accountability, encourages speaking up, and actively supports innovation and safer ways of working.
Success in this role will come from your ability to build trust, challenge constructively, and influence change in a way that genuinely improves safety outcomes for people on site.
