About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced safety professional with strong project management skills to lead the Safe Control of Work (CoW) Program. This permanent role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a critical safety initiative that's already well-established and drive it through to successful embedding into business as usual operations across our clients geographically diverse business.
The immediate focus is to embed the program, after which you will continue to provide governance, ongoing support, and ensure the sustainability of this life-saving work across all regions

The Role
As the Safe Control of Work Project Lead, you will own and drive several National cross-functional programs supported by reference groups of specialists from Health and Safety, Engineering, and Operations. Your primary focus will be embedding standardised work practices that address high fatality risk exposure across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply structured project management methodologies to deliver against an agreed implementation plan
  • Drive momentum and progress where activities have stalled
  • Coordinate several cross-functional business risk teams across the country
  • Provide ongoing governance and support once embedded to ensure sustainability
  • Define minimum control standards for all business tasks and activities
  • Establish standard ways of working across all geographic regions
  • Ensure all supporting work are documented and accessible
  • Partner with the enterprise training team to develop training and competency modules
  • Eliminate siloed approaches and geographic variation in safety practices
  • Ensure consistency across all regions as the business undergoes rapid change
  • Complete outstanding risk assessments and control documentation
  • Maintain governance frameworks throughout the transition period
About You
  • Process safety and manufacturing background with deep understanding of operational risk
  • Strong understanding of task analysis and breaking work into defined activities
  • Experience in high-risk operational environments (manufacturing, construction, or heavy industry)
  • Proven project management capability with a track record of delivering complex safety programs to closure
Highly Valued Background
  • Logistics, construction, industrial or heavy manufacturing industry experience
  • Experience developing and implementing control standards and safe systems of work
  • Track record of driving standardisation across multiple sites or regions
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in operational settings
