An opportunity exists for a motivated and proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer to join a highly regarded and well-established organisation in Sydney. This is a 3-month temporary role with strong potential to convert to permanent, offering flexibility, growth, and variety in a truly unique operational environment.
Working as part of a small, collaborative team and reporting to the HSE Manager, you will play an important role in supporting safety compliance, incident management, onboarding and audit preparation—while contributing to an exciting period of change and development across the business, including the transition to a brand-new site.
The Opportunity

- Join a supportive and experienced HSE Manager, and work as part of a close-knit team
- Make an immediate impact and gain valuable experience in an engaging, operationally diverse environment
- Coordinate day-to-day health and safety activities across the site
- Maintain compliance records, incident registers, and risk assessments
- Support onboarding processes through Rapid – ensuring training, licences, and PPE are current
- Conduct safety walks, toolbox talks and contribute to team-based risk management activities
- Assist in preparation for ISO 45001 and 14001 audits
- Support the transition to a new site opening later in the year, ensuring safety readiness from day one
- Work collaboratively with operational, retail and facilities teams to maintain high safety standards
- Minimum Cert IV in WHS (or working towards it)
- 2–5 years’ experience in a similar health and safety role
- Familiarity with ISO management systems (45001/14001) and incident management processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across teams
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Previous experience using Rapid or similar systems for onboarding and compliance (advantageous)
