Are you a practical and hands on health and safety professional who thrives in blue collar, high risk environments? Our client, a well established industrial services organisation, is growing their safety capability across the Sydney metropolitan area and is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor ?business Partner to join a collaborative, outcomes focused team.

This is a field facing role based in Sydney supporting multiple sites across the metropolitan area. You will use your own car for travel between sites and you will receive a car allowance.

About the role
You will be a visible safety leader who partners with operational teams and managers to lift capability reduce risk and embed sustainable safety improvements. You will work on practical safety solutions incident response regulatory engagement and continuous improvement initiatives that make a real difference to people and operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders and frontline teams to increase health and safety knowledge performance and culture.
  • Participate in and contribute to team meetings and continuous improvement processes to optimise how the function operates.
  • Provide specialist health and safety support to operational areas including incident response and investigations.
  • Help implement the enterprise health and safety strategy standards guidance and tools into day to day operations.
  • Ensure health and safety reporting tracking and follow up activities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Model visible leadership by demonstrating safe behaviour and sound environmental stewardship at all times.
What we are looking for
  • Minimum five years practical experience in a health and safety business partnering or advisor role.
  • Proven experience working with multiple stakeholders and achieving collaborative outcomes.
  • Experience in incident response and investigative processes including incident cause analysis method or a similar investigation process.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coach and influence at all levels.
  • Qualifications in occupational health and safety or a related discipline preferred.
  • Proven experience in blue collar and high risk industry environments.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety legislation standards and industry best practice.
  • Current driver licence and willingness to use your own vehicle for work. Car allowance provided.
