Our client, a leading organisation in the renewable energy and power generation sector, is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environment Advisor to support their operational excellence across a diverse portfolio of modern energy facilities.
This is a hands on role that offers genuine variety. You will balance strategic systems improvement with practical field engagement, working closely with operational teams across maintenance, construction and solar commissioning activities. If you are a safety professional who thrives in dynamic project environments and enjoys coaching teams while strengthening systems, this opportunity offers meaningful impact in one of Australia's most important sectors.

The Role
As the Health, Safety and Environment Advisor, you will:

  • Lead and support investigations using ICAM methodology or equivalent frameworks
  • Strengthen contractor safety management programs and ensure consistent application of risk controls
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure ongoing compliance with legislative and organisational standards
  • Travel to site approximately two to three days every two to three weeks, with the balance of time working from the Sydney office or from home
The Environment
You will support a large scale operational environment spanning mechanical and electrical maintenance alongside solar project delivery. The facilities are modern and well equipped, with engaged and collaborative teams who are receptive to safety guidance.
The risk profile is diverse and includes high voltage electrical work, isolation procedures, working at heights, confined spaces and complex contractor management activities.

About You
You will bring proven experience in work health and safety within power generation, renewables, utilities, rail or other high risk industrial environments. Your background includes supporting construction, commissioning and maintenance operations, with strong capability in both systems development and practical field application.

Essential experience and attributes:
  • Demonstrated background in operational health and safety within high risk industries such as power generation, renewables, utilities, rail or large scale infrastructure
  • Strong systems capability with the ability to assess, adapt and improve existing processes and frameworks
  • Practical knowledge of ICAM or similar incident investigation methodologies
  • Experience supporting construction, commissioning and maintenance activities
  • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Flexible and adaptable, comfortable operating across both strategic and hands on tasks
  • Confident and assertive with the ability to influence constructively
  • Proactive communicator who builds rapport quickly and engages effectively with field based teams
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Health and Safety, Environmental Science or related discipline
What is on Offer
  • Fixed term contract for 12 months with potential for extension
  • Performance based completion bonus
