Health & Safety Advisor - Esperance

Work Type:

Full Time

Location:

Esperance - WA

  • A great safety culture. Strong operational partnerships. A lifestyle worth considering. Esperance based.
This is an opportunity to join a WA organisation with an established, positive safety culture and excellent working relationships between the Safety team and Operations.

Safety is seen as a shared responsibility, with the team working alongside operational leaders and frontline employees to find practical solutions, manage risk and continually improve the way work is done.

Based in beautiful Esperance, this permanent opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful contribution across diverse regional operations, backed by a supportive team and genuine commitment to safety and wellbeing.

This is a hands-on role for a safety professional who enjoys getting out into the business, building trust and helping people make good decisions. You will have the opportunity to influence safety outcomes, strengthen critical risk management and contribute to initiatives that make a real difference.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Partnering with operational leaders and frontline teams to strengthen safety ownership, accountability and positive safety behaviours.
  • Providing practical guidance on safety management systems, policies, procedures, hazard management and legislative compliance.
  • Supporting the critical risk program and monitoring the effectiveness of key controls.
  • Leading and supporting incident investigations using ICAM methodology, with a focus on meaningful corrective actions and learning.
  • Conducting workplace inspections and audits, identifying opportunities to improve safety and reduce risk.
  • Reviewing safety data and performance trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Contributing to safety improvement projects across geographically dispersed operations.
  • Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to support health, wellbeing and injury prevention initiatives.
About You
You are a credible, approachable Health & Safety professional who understands that effective safety is built through relationships, engagement and practical action.

You enjoy working with operational teams, can influence without simply relying on authority, and know how to balance legislative requirements with the realities of getting the job done safely.

You will ideally bring:
  • A WHS qualification or equivalent, or significant relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in a high-risk operational environment such as utilities, mining, construction, engineering or a similar industry.
  • Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience supporting and improving Safety Management Systems.
  • Sound knowledge of risk management, hazard identification, incident investigation and legislative compliance.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections and workplace investigations.
Most importantly, you bring a collaborative mindset, sound judgement and a genuine commitment to helping people work safely.

Why Consider This Opportunity? A positive safety culture: Join an organisation where Safety and Operations work together constructively, with strong working relationships and a shared commitment to achieving good outcomes.

A supportive team: Work alongside a trusted, high-performing Safety team that values collaboration and practical contribution.

A role with influence: Build relationships across the business and help drive improvements that have a tangible impact on people, operations and regional communities.

A regional lifestyle: Enjoy living in Esperance, with its spectacular coastline, beaches and outdoor lifestyle, while building a rewarding career.

A package designed to support you: The remuneration package includes salary plus superannuation, a housing allowance, a location allowance and relocation support.

Work-life balance: This is a permanent Monday to Friday position with no regular weekend work, allowing you to enjoy life outside work.
