About the Opportunity
Our client is a values-driven, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to enriching the lives of people. With a proud history and a growing footprint across NSW and the ACT, they deliver a wide range of essential services that promote inclusion, independence, and community connection. Guided by integrity, respect, and genuine care, they are committed to building safer, healthier, and more supportive environments for their clients and employees alike.

They are now seeking an experienced and passionate Health and Safety Manager to join their leadership team and play a key role in shaping the future of health, safety and wellbeing across their organisation. This is a rare opportunity to lead with purpose, drive real cultural change, and influence how safety is lived and experienced every day across a diverse and dispersed workforce.

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, this role will see you leading the implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at building capability, strengthening engagement, and ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation. You will act as a trusted advisor and coach to regional and operational leaders, helping them to develop practical, people-centred approaches to safety that make a genuine difference.

This is a highly visible and hands-on position, requiring a strong balance of strategic oversight and on-the-ground leadership. You will partner closely with teams across multiple locations, identifying risks, embedding effective controls, and fostering a culture of care, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing coaching, mentoring and advice to leaders and safety professionals to build capability and confidence.
  • Supporting incident investigations, reviews and audits to ensure robust learning and prevention outcomes.
  • Driving continuous improvement through innovation, engagement and collaborative leadership.
  • Representing the organisation in external forums and maintaining strong relationships with regulators and partners.
About You
You are an experienced and influential WHS professional who enjoys leading through collaboration, trust, and practical expertise. With a proven ability to work across diverse and dynamic environments, you bring a balanced approach to safety that combines empathy with operational acumen.
You will ideally demonstrate:
  • Proven experience leading health, safety and wellbeing programs within complex or multi-site organisations.
  • Strong communication, influencing and coaching skills across all organisational levels.
  • A thorough understanding of WHS and wellbeing frameworks, risk management, and relevant legislation.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop others.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related field.
Experience within disability, aged care, health, or other high-care sectors will be highly regarded, though your ability to connect with people and inspire positive change will be your greatest asset.

Why This Role Stands Out
This is a chance to bring your professional expertise into a purpose-driven environment where your leadership can make a visible and lasting impact. Our client is deeply committed to creating safer, smarter, and more supportive workplaces — and they value people who share that commitment.
You will have the opportunity to:
  • Shape and influence a safety culture that prioritises people and wellbeing.
  • Join a collaborative leadership team that is open to new ideas and innovation.
  • Enjoy strong executive backing and the scope to design and deliver meaningful safety initiatives.
  • Access salary packaging and professional development opportunities that recognise and reward your contribution.
Click ‘Apply’ to express your interest and become part of an organisation that is redefining what great safety leadership looks like in the not-for-profit sector.
