This is a BAU (business-as-usual) advisory role embedded within operational workgroups on-site. You'll be on the ground supporting line leaders, assessing risk, contributing to proactive safety initiatives, and being part of a collaborative WHS function known for mentorship and learning.

The Role
This is a Health & Safety Advisor position focused on day-to-day support within operational teams. Reporting into the WHS Operations Manager, you’ll work closely with a team of 8 other Advisors, from trainees to seasoned professionals. The environment is fast-paced and complex — but highly supportive.
Your focus areas will include:
- Toolbox talks, daily site engagement, and general safety coaching
- Conducting risk assessments and supporting incident investigations
- Participating in safety inspections and observations
- Attending WHS group meetings, HSR forums, and safety committee sessions
- Supporting smaller WHS improvement projects and psychosocial risk management
- Facilitating or supporting safety training (e.g. confined space, manual handling)
- Identifying improvement opportunities and driving a proactive safety culture
You’re a hands-on, solutions-focused individual who enjoys being part of a team and getting involved in the action. You’re not just checking boxes – you’re curious, approachable, and want to build trust while helping people do their work safely and effectively.
To be successful, you’ll bring:
- Minimum Cert IV in WHS (Diploma desirable but not essential)
- Some WHS experience in an operational, construction, government or technical setting
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
- A proactive mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity
- Willingness to complete required training (confined space, WAH, etc.)
- Desire to grow and learn within a structured and supportive team
