The Safe Step is partnering with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, one of Australia’s most trusted and purpose-driven organisations, to appoint multiple Health and Injury Support Specialists.
With more than 4,000 employees nationally, Lifeblood plays a critical role in Australia’s healthcare system, connecting generous donors with the patients and communities who rely on blood, plasma and biological products.
Due to continued growth within the Health and Wellbeing function, these newly created roles will help strengthen injury management capability across both work-related and non-work-related injuries. Reporting to the National Manager Health and Injury, you will support Lifeblood’s proactive, wellbeing-led approach to recovery at work, helping leaders and employees achieve safe, sustainable outcomes.
About the Role
As a Health and Injury Support Specialist, you will partner with leaders across the business to support, both work related and non-work related injury/illness rehabilitation and return-to-work outcomes.
This role is less focused on direct employee case management and more focused on coaching and enabling leaders to confidently support their teams through injury/illness and recovery. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, insurers, and healthcare providers to deliver positive outcomes while contributing to a proactive and well-being focused culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting early intervention program and injury triage activities
- Supporting workplace injury management and workers compensation activities
- Providing coaching and guidance to leaders on injury management and return-to-work practices
- Supporting workplace injury rehabilitation and workers compensation activities
- Developing and supporting suitable duties and recovery at work plans
- Identifying risks and escalating concerns early
- Building strong relationships with leaders and stakeholders nationally
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the function
