Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety and Environment, this newly created role will lead the organisation's injury management strategy, workers compensation performance and occupational health programs, with a strong focus on self insurance claims management, liability management and recovery at work outcomes.

Key Focus Areas
- Lead and continuously improve the organisation's self insurance injury management framework
- Drive improved workers compensation outcomes, claim duration performance and return to work results
- Manage complex and high value claims with a focus on liability management and cost containment
- Develop a national injury management and occupational health strategy
- Strengthen injury management governance, processes and reporting across multiple sites
- Partner with operational leadership to improve recovery at work outcomes and reduce claim costs
- Lead relationships with regulators, legal providers, rehabilitation partners and external stakeholders
- Provide oversight of health surveillance, wellbeing and occupational health programs
You are an experienced injury management professional who understands that strong claims management is only part of the equation.
To be successful, you will have:
- Proven experience working within a self insured workers compensation environment
- Strong knowledge of self insurance claims management, liability management and recovery at work frameworks
- Demonstrated success improving workers compensation performance, reducing claim costs and achieving sustainable return to work outcomes
- Experience managing complex, high value and long tail claims
- Strong understanding of workers compensation legislation and injury management obligations
- Experience using claims and injury data to drive strategic decision making
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Allied health, rehabilitation, injury management or related qualifications highly regarded
- Return to Work accreditation highly regarded
