Full Time

Location:

Melbourne - VIC

  • Join a growing business in the exciting data centre space
  • Make your mark by developing and driving the safety strategy
  • Opportunity to build a safety function and team
  •
We are partnering with a rapidly expanding electrical and communications contractor delivering some of Australia's most complex data centre, mission-critical and major infrastructure projects.

With a strong pipeline of work and significant growth ahead, the organisation is seeking a strategic yet hands-on Head of Safety to help build the systems, capability and culture required to support the next stage of its journey.

This is a business that moves quickly. As projects grow in scale and complexity, you will need to balance safety excellence with operational delivery, influencing stakeholders to maintain high standards while enabling the organisation to continue performing at pace.

Key Priorities
  • Build and implement a scalable safety strategy aligned to significant business growth.
  • Further embed a proactive safety culture where safety is a visible and valued part of day-to-day operations.
  • Strengthen systems, governance, reporting and leading indicators to support informed decision-making.
  • Drive greater ownership of safety across the business and influence leaders at all levels.
  • Lead initiatives across physical safety, psychosocial risk and wellbeing.
  • Ensure the safety function can support a rapidly growing workforce and project portfolio.
About You

You are an experienced safety executive who knows how to build capability and drive change in dynamic project environments. You are comfortable operating with ambiguity, making decisions quickly and influencing stakeholders across executive, operational and frontline levels.
You will bring:
  • Senior safety leadership experience within construction, electrical, infrastructure, utilities or major projects.
  • A track record of building scalable safety frameworks in growing organisations
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance safety, productivity and delivery outcomes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • The resilience and agility to succeed in a business undergoing rapid transformation and growth.
Why This Role?

This is a genuine opportunity to put your stamp on an organisation at a pivotal stage of growth. You'll have the autonomy, executive support and resources to build a contemporary safety function, influence business strategy and help shape the culture of a company delivering some of the country's most significant data centre and critical infrastructure projects.

If you're energised by growth, enjoy working at pace and want the opportunity to build something meaningful rather than simply maintain it, we'd love to hear from you.
