The Opportunity
As part of the Leadership team reporting to the General Manager, the Head of Health, Safety & Sustainability will shape and uplift the HSE strategy in alignment with the business’ growth trajectory, complex risk profile, and evolving identity as a leading contractor in the renewables sector.
Through business growth, increased project complexity, and broadened exposure, there is a recognised need to mature and transform the safety function, from compliance-led to risk-based and forward-thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, build, and mature the Safety, Health & Sustainability function, including strategy, systems, risk frameworks, performance, and culture.
- Balance the strategy with a strong operational focus, hands-on visible leadership, embedding HSE in site-based project execution.
- Lead and develop a large, centralised team in HSE Ops, Systems, Environment, and Sustainability.
- Provide leadership and oversight of HSE risk and Contractor Management across dispersed and remote project sites.
- Represent safety and sustainability at the ELT level and actively shape business-wide decision-making.
About You
- Proven experience leading HSE in complex, high-risk environments – Construction/Projects experience essential.
- Outstanding communication, influence, and relationship building skills.
- Strong operational grounding and ability to engage and build partnerships.
- Experienced in coaching and developing HSE teams, and building capability.
- Ability to manage across a matrixed environment (direct and dotted line reporting) and work collaboratively with shared services and Executive peers.
- Resilience, presence, and pragmatism; balance big-picture vision with frontline credibility.

Location
Melbourne CBD with national travel as required
Salary
$280,000 - $320,000 TFR + Bonus
