This iconic Australian organisation is seeking an experienced Environmental Business Partner to support and influence environmental performance across operations in NSW.
Reporting to the Environment Manager NSW and forming part of a broader national Environment team, this role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact through hands on engagement, practical advice and delivery of key environmental projects.
You will work closely with operational leaders to manage environmental risk, strengthen compliance and support the development of a proactive, high performing environmental culture across a diverse portfolio of sites.
What you will be doing
This is a broad and engaging role with real scope and variety, including:
- Partnering with the operational sites to provide practical environmental guidance and project support
- Delivering environmental risk management initiatives and improvement projects
- Supporting compliance with statutory and licence requirements across multiple sites
- Facilitating environmental incident reporting, investigation and corrective actions
- Assisting with the development and implementation of Environmental action plans
- Supporting the organisations ongoing licence to operate
- Building strong working relationships with environmental regulators
- Contributing to the uplift of environmental capability across the workforce
You enjoy being close to the business and are comfortable operating as a first point of contact for environmental advice across high risk, operational environments.
You are proactive, practical and collaborative in your approach, with a genuine interest in supporting leaders and teams to understand and meet their environmental responsibilities. You enjoy being out on site, building relationships and helping the business navigate both current and emerging environmental challenges.
You will also bring:
- Strong working knowledge of environmental compliance and regulatory frameworks
- Experience managing permits and licensing requirements
- The confidence to engage with regulators and internal stakeholders alike
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in blue collar or high risk operating environments is desirable but not essential
- Strong written communication and report writing skills
- Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail
