This is an opportunity to join an iconic Australian organisation with a strong operational footprint and a genuine commitment to environmental performance.
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Business Partner to work closely with operational teams across NSW, providing practical, on-the-ground support in complex, high-risk environments. Reporting to the Environment Manager NSW, you will be part of a broader, well-established national Environment team and play a key role in protecting and strengthening the organisation’s licence to operate.
This is a hands-on, site-focused role suited to someone who enjoys being close to operations, building trust with leaders and crews, and delivering real environmental outcomes — not just paperwork.
What You Will Be Doing
This is a broad, operationally embedded role with real variety, including:
- Partnering with site leaders to provide practical environmental advice and project support
- Supporting the identification, management and reduction of environmental risk across multiple operational sites
- Driving compliance with environmental licences, permits and statutory obligations
- Facilitating environmental incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions
- Supporting the development and delivery of environmental action plans and improvement initiatives
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with environmental regulators
- Contributing to the uplift of environmental capability and awareness across the workforce
- Supporting the organisation’s ongoing licence to operate in a complex regulatory environment
You are comfortable operating in industrial or high-risk environments and enjoy being a trusted advisor to operational teams.
You take a practical, balanced and commercially aware approach, understanding the realities of production while maintaining strong environmental standards. You build credibility quickly on site, communicate clearly, and are confident engaging with everyone from frontline teams to senior leaders and regulators.
You are someone who values stability, long-term impact and strong working relationships, and who wants to be part of an organisation where experience is respected and decisions are well supported.
What You Will Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
- Solid working knowledge of environmental compliance and regulatory frameworks
- Experience managing environmental licences, permits and approvals
- Confidence engaging with regulators and internal stakeholders
- Strong written communication and report writing capability
- Experience in industrial, heavy manufacturing, mining, infrastructure or similar environments will be highly regarded
You will be joining a stable, well-established organisation with a strong operational culture and a collaborative, well-connected Environment team.
This is a role where professional judgement is trusted, experience is valued, and people tend to stay. You will have the opportunity to work across diverse sites, influence real outcomes, and build a long-term career while making a meaningful contribution to environmental performance across NSW.
