Cate is the Principal Consultant – Southern Region (VIC/TAS/SA) at The Safe Step, based in Melbourne, supporting senior HSE/WHS/OHS and Environment professionals across both contract, and senior leadership permanent markets.

Cate brings over 30 years’ experience in search, selection and talent acquisition, including 17 years specialising in HSE/WHS and Environment across a broad range of industries throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Throughout her career, Cate has led and coached high-performing teams, managed major projects including significant talent acquisition drives across a range of technical disciplines, and reviewed and improved talent onboarding practices and processes.

Known for consistently delivering for clients and candidates through her sound judgement, attention to detail, energy and relentless focus on results.

Cate works four days a week, dedicating one day each week to cooking for various charity organisations.

Outside of work, Cate is Team Manager for both boys’ Cricket, Football (AFL!) and Basketball teams, and President of the ‘Jalanga’ Ski Lodge at Mt Hotham.
